HeartCode PALS Skills Session Description Information HeartCode PALS Skills Session This is parts 2 & 3 of the HeartCode PALS. You MUST have completed the online potion of HeartCode BLS PRIOR to class and bring your completion certificate with you. (If you have NOT please register for that class separately). This is a structured PALS Hands-On Session with an AHA Instructor. This session focuses on meaningful skills practice, debriefing, team scenarios, discussions of local protocols, and skills testing. To receive a PALS course completion cared using this program, students must complete three parts: HeartCode PALS Part 1. Upon successful completion of the online portion, including the written exam, students receive a Part 1 certificate of completion, which must be presented for parts 2 and 3 Part 2*, a hands-on skills practice session with an AHA PALS Instructor Part 3*, a skills test with an AHA PALS Instructor

BLS Instructor Description Information BLS Instructor Becoming an American Heart Association instructor is easy after consulting with an American Heart Association Training Center to find out whether the Training Center (TC) is accepting new instructors and the TCC's preferred course delivery. Once you become an Instructor, you will have access to the most current emergency cardiovascular care science, course updates, training resources and tools through the online AHA Instructor Network. How can I become an AHA Instructor? The steps are simple – get started today! 1. Complete an Instructor Candidate Application for your local Training Center before enrolling in an Instructor Course. 2. Align with a local Training Center accepting new instructors. The AHA Training Center Alignment form must be received to by our office 30 days prior to the course. 3. Submit a letter of recommendation to be an instructor from a Training Center Faculty or Regional Faculty member 30 days in advance of the course. 4. Have current AHA provider card, received 60 days prior to the course, in the discipline of the Instructor Course. 5. Successfully complete a Provider Skills check off 30 days prior to the course by Training Center Faculty or Regional Faculty. PLEASE NOTE: There will be no remediation of skills at this time. Potential candidates that do not pass skills checks will not be allowed to attend the instructor course. 6. Successfully complete the discipline-specific Instructor Essentials online course, and print the course completion certificate. 7. Successfully complete the discipline-specific classroom Instructor Course. 8. Successfully be monitored teaching your first course within six months after completing the Instructor Course. Training Center Coordinators may require additional monitoring.

Heartsaver CPR AED teaches skills with AHA’s research-proven Practice-While-Watching (PWW) technique, which allows instructors to observe the students, provide feedback and guide the students’ learning of skills. Upon successful completion of the course, including a skills test, students receive a Heartsaver CPR AED course completion card, valid for 2 years. WHO SHOULD TAKE THE COURSE?
