BLS (CPR) for the Community Description Information BLS (CPR) for the Community The American Heart Association BLS Providers Course is a 4 hour class that covers core material such as adult and pediatric CPR (including two-rescuer scenarios and use of the bag mask), foreign-body airway obstruction, and automated external defibrillation. The course is designed for healthcare providers who must have a credential (card) documenting successful completion of a CPR course. You must attend to be eligible for provider status. EMT Class (GEM- EMI Campus) Description Information EMT Class (GEM- EMI Campus) Class meets Tuesday and Thursday evenings (6:30-10:00 pm) as well as one Saturday per month for approximately 20 weeks. Students must be at least 17 years of age to participate. A physician release and proof of health insurance is mandatory. Computer and Internet access is required for online testing. Minimum age is 17. Students age 18 or older will be eligible to test for the National Registry EMT credential (additional fee).
