Throughout your Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) educational program you must demonstrate competence in a wide range of emergency care skills. Preventative Health and Safety and Nutrition Description Information Preventative Health and Safety and Nutrition Preventive Health and Safety and Nutrition is an eight (8) hours classroom-based course designed to meet the California Emergency Medical Authority (EMSA) state licensing requirements for child care providers. Preventative Health and Safety and Nutrition Description Information Preventative Health and Safety and Nutrition Preventive Health and Safety and Nutrition is an eight (8) hours classroom-based course designed to meet the California Emergency Medical Authority (EMSA) state licensing requirements for child care providers. (https://emsa.ca.gov/childcare_provider1/) Certifications will be issued the day of training. Participants will learn information about infectious diseases (including immunizations), childhood injury prevention, caring for children with special needs, identification, reporting of child abuse, and childcare nutrition training. Resource materials will be emailed to you as part of the program, please take the time to review them. During class, we will cover these topics and supply additional handouts.
