CME-Introduction to Sign Language Description Information CME-Introduction to Sign Language Marta Andrews, in addition to being the account representative for AMR, has studied to become an interpreter for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. She formed Learn2Sign in 2005 and is a certified Sign2Me® instructor. Marta has provided SIGN with your BABY® classes for area parents as well as ASL (American Sign Language) classes for high school students and developmentally delayed children. Marta was also a Para-Professional in the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Program in the Northview school district. Marta will review basic American Sign Language for the Medical First Responder. This is not a certification course for American Sign Language.

Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support Recertification Description Information Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support Recertification PHTLS courses improve the quality of trauma care in your area and decrease mortality. The program is based on a prehospital trauma care philosophy, stressing the treatment of the multi-system trauma patient as a unique entity with specific needs. This may require an approach to the trauma patient that varies from traditional treatment modalities. PHTLS promotes critical thinking as the foundation for providing quality care. It is based on the belief that, given a good fund of knowledge and key principles, EMS practitioners are capable of making reasoned decisions regarding patient care. The PHTLS course is continuously updated and revised to keep up with the advances in the field, ATLS Guidelines and feedback from PHTLS participants.
