This course covers a variety of topics: • Recognition and treatment of infants and children at risk for cardio-pulmonary arrest • The systematic approach to pediatric assessment • Effective respiratory management • Defibrillation and synchronized cardioversion • Intraosseous access and fluid bolus administration • Effective resuscitation team dynamics Upon successful completion of this course you will receive an AHA PALS Provider Card. Family & Friends® programs are intended for members of the general public who would like to learn basic CPR and/or first aid, including: •families with children or elderly relatives •college-dorm resident assistants •athletes or wilderness explorers •members of volunteer organizations •residents of rural areas or locations prone to natural disasters This course is noncredentialed -- no course card will be awarded upon completion. Anyone required by his or her employer or wishing to be credentialed should select another course offered by NCEMS that fits your need.

Heartsaver CPR Instructor Class - 2017 Grant Description Information Heartsaver CPR Instructor Class - 2017 Grant The Heartsaver Instructor Course is designed to prepare instructor candidates to teach AHA Heartsaver Instructor-led and blended learning courses.

Note: You must be a Heartsaver CPR provider or Health Care Provider with a current CPR card to attend this class. This class is sponsored by a grant from the Florida DOH to offer infant CPR and choking classes through our AHA Training Center to 2500 students free of charge. This program will also educate community CPR instructors so that the education will continue after the grant. The program will seek to increase the number of patients receiving push-hard-push fast CPR and have access to an AED and reduce infant mortality in our community. These classes are FREE training for CPR instructors that are sponsored by their community group/organization and agree to teach at least 4 classes under the grant

Friends and Family CPR and First Aid Description Information Friends and Family CPR and First Aid AHA’s video-based, classroom Family & Friends® CPR Course teaches adult Hands-Only™ CPR, adult AED use, child CPR and AED use, and infant CPR. It also teaches how to relieve choking in an adult, child or infant. This course will include First Aid education The course offers training for those who want to learn CPR and do not require a course completion card.

The competition will consist of the most complex scenarios Healthcare Providers may see in their career. The contestant must obtain the advanced airway to be successful in each scenario. Each scenario will be a timed event. The top 3 contestants will be awarded trophies. Each participant must be registered by May 1st to receive a T-shirt.
